Mother's Day

Our favourite Bible verse for our soon-to-be baby boy came in the mail this week as we continue to last minute prep the nursery for his arrival. This week leading up to Mother's Day has certainly brought out "all the emotions" and "all the feels". I can't help but think of my birth mother Paulina who carried me in her womb for nine months and made the difficult decision and sacrifice to have me placed in the care of another woman who could promise me the world. And I couldn't be more thankful that she did just that. Nancy Ruth Sider (aka. my momma) is one of the greatest gifts God has blessed me with. It is an absolute privilege to say that I have been raised with grace, dignity, truth, love, hope, and the courage to move mountains. My mother has always been humbly fierce, strong, and brave with a keen sense of adventure & wonder. My journey to motherhood hasn't been without challenge and my mom has uplifted me every step of the way. As someone who craves adventure, I know that in just a few days i'm about to be thrown into my biggest adventure yet!!

If there is one beautiful thing I took from Paulina's passing away years ago, it was when I was told that as Paulina reflected on her life before she passed, she said she truly believed that if bringing me into this world was her only life purpose then she considered herself fulfilled. I sit here sharing that exact same feeling today about meeting and raising my future son. Paulina may have brought me into this world but my mom showed me how to love and live in it. If it wasn't for mom I wouldn't know how to hurt for the broken, love the unloveable, and fight for the underdog all while seeking justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God.

I love you mom. To me there is no woman on this entire planet greater than you. I look forward to you blessing my son with that same greatness as you continue to walk beside me every step of the way. Love you forever. xoxo
